Head Extreme Tour Pickleball Paddle Review

Introduction:

The Head Extreme Tour Pickleball Paddle ranks second on my list of the top Head pickleball paddles (but it might easily have been first). The Head Extreme Tour, promoted by Sarah Ansboury, the 2019 US Open Mixed Doubles Champion, is an improved version of Head’s Radical Tour, which debuted in 2018.

The Head Extreme Tour is a lightweight paddle with a diamond-shaped paddle face. The Radical Tour is designed to help you build a quick swing and respond quickly around the net and it definitely did in my game.

Like the Head Radical Tour, the Head Extreme Tour pickleball paddle boasts a graphite paddle surface with Extreme Spin technology.

Face & Core:

I found out that the face is properly designed and the core is absolutely fine for me. This paddle face is meant to provide more bite while spinning and swerving the pickleball. In the same way that the graphite face on the Radical Tour ‘pops’ the ball back at opponents with venom, the graphite face on the Extreme Tour ‘pops’ the ball back at opponents with venom. The paddle’s core is made of honeycomb polypropylene and uses Head’s Optimized Tubular Construction (OTC).

This results in a properly weighted paddle core, suppressing aggressive opponent play while giving you with great feel and control on the court. The Extreme Tour also incorporates Head’s proprietary PU material grip, which is intended for comfort and durability while minimizing vibration.

Specs:

The specs are not completely ideal for me but I didn’t found it bad either. The Extreme Tour weighs 7.6 ounces and is 16″ long, the same as the Radical Tour, with a 7 7/8″ paddle face. The weight and form of the Extreme Tour set it apart from the Radical Tour. If you want a quick and easy-to-use diamond-shaped paddle, go for the Extreme Tour.

The Extreme Tour Graphite Pickleball Paddle offers extra roughness that aids in the gripping of the pickleball for improved spin and control. The grip is 5″ long and has a medium girth, while the entire paddle is 16″ long.

This is more than twice as long as the norm, giving you more reach and flexibility. The design includes a bright yellow HEAD logo and details surrounding the paddle’s name. The average weight is 7.9 oz.

The Extreme Tour Graphite Pickleball Paddle is designed for players that are serious about developing their game and need a paddle that will hold up under pressure.

Carbon Graphite Technology:

The HEAD Extreme Tour Graphite Pickleball Paddle incorporates all of the company’s cutting-edge technology to provide an exceptionally flexible experience. This paddle has given me an excellent feel and control thanks to its carbon/graphite striking surface. Its small weight enables me to respond fast to the game while returning balls with ease. EVA material has been inlaid in the comfort grip for a pleasant feel that dampens vibration.

Key Features:

  • The diamond paddle shape of the Head is accentuated for better aerodynamics.
  • With a weight of 7.6 ounces, this paddle is easy to handle and fast to strike.
  • Also featured are the Head’s Optimized Tubular Construction and Extreme Spin Hitting Surface.

Conclusion:

If you want complete control, this paddle is for you. The Extreme Tour paddle is the lightest of the Extreme Tour paddles, with a distinctive Diamond Shape for optimum control on every stroke. Because the head weight is less, you can swing quicker and have more response time.

It has a honeycomb polymer core with Optimized Tubular Construction (OTC) and a carbon graphite hitting surface (GHS) for outstanding feel and playability, as well as Extreme Spin technology and a Comfort grip for great feel, touch, and ultimate dinking ability.
